- Login to your Gmail account
- Click on the gear icon at the right corner of the page
- Click on Settings
- Click on Accounts and Import.
- Click on Add a POP3 mail account you own besides Check mail from other accounts (using POP3)
- Enter your VCN email address
- Click on Next step
- Under Add a mail account you own, enter the following settings:
- User Name: your VCN email address without @vcn.bc.ca
- Password: your VCN password without @vcn.bc.ca
- POP Server: mail.vcn.bc.ca
- Port: 995
- Check the box in front of Leave a copy of retrieved message on the server if you don’t want your messages from your VCN webmail being wiped after you setup your VCN account in Gmail
- Click on Add account
- After prompted with the message Your mail account has been added, click on Next Step
- Under your email address, uncheck the Treat as an alias box
- Click on Next Step
- Under Configure your mail to be sent through vcn.bc.ca SMTP servers, modify the following settings:
- SMTP Server: out.vcn.bc.ca
- Port: 587
- User Name: your VCN email address without @vcn.bc.ca
- Password: your VCN password
- Select the secured connection using TLS option
- Click on Add Account.
- Then the Gmail Team sends a confirmation email to your VCN account.
- Sign into your VCN account using VCN webmail or other email clients like you usually do,
- Click on your Inbox
- Click on the first message at the top that was sent from the Gmail Team
- Copy the 8 digit code provided in the email on a paper (or use ctrl + c)
- Go back to the Add a mail account you own page and enter the 8 digit code into the bar under Enter and verify the confirmation code
- Click on Verify.
