Explore the many different facets of a site and how they affect the design of a garden. Examine topography, sun orientation, wind direction, adjacent elements (both natural and man-made), plant recording and survey drawings, as well as methods for measuring. Get an introduction to drafting the site, photo recording and the use of Google and VanMap Lite for aerial viewing. Look at an adjacent case study house and site to see how to study and record using these methods, then initiate a conceptual diagram.

Located in the David Strangway Building at UBC Point Grey.

Course fee: $350
