BC Lung Association's RUSH: Race and Urban Scavenger Hunt
By events - 5/1/2012 Date of event June 23, 2012
Location of event All Over Metro Vancouver

What: The BC Lung Association’s RUSH: Race and Urban Scavenger Hunt

Who: You and a teammate

When: Saturday, June 23rd, 2012 9:00 am – 4:00 pm

Where: All over Metro Vancouver!!

How It Works:

Teams of 2 will scour Metro Vancouver on foot and by public transit to complete 10 Checkpoint Challenges within a 6 hour time limit. Teams must decipher clues to find the checkpoints and plot their route. Each Checkpoint Challenge tests teams’ limits both mentally and physically – and will have most doubled over in laughter!  The team who finishes first wins an amazing trip for two around the world! But everybody’s a winner – you’ll all get a ticket to the after party just for showing up!

To Register:

Space is limited! For more information or to register your team of two, visit www.rushvancouver.ca or call the BC Lung Association at 604.731.5864. Each team must commit to raising a minimum $200 on or before June 23rd, 2012 – and we’ll be offering incentive prizes for reaching top fundraising amounts!

Don’t forget to follow us on Twitter (www.twitter.com/therushvan) and Facebook (www.facebook.com/therushvan) for updates, a chance to interact with other RUSHers - and the occasional clue!

All event proceeds support vital lung health and air quality research, education & advocacy!

Vancouver, Canada
 >> Free Bradley Manning Now!

THURSDAY, April 26
4-6pm
U.S. Consulate (1075 West Pender St. @ Thurlow St.)
Downtown Vancouver

Bradley Manning is the 24-year-old U.S. Army intelligence analyst imprisoned and accused of leaking over 260,000 classified United States diplomatic cables, as well as videos and documents which have become known as the Afghan War Diary and the Iraq War Logs. Published on the whistleblower site Wikileaks, these documents shed light on U.S. war crimes around the world.

The third pre-trial hearing of Bradley Manning began on Tuesday, April 24th. Bradley faces 22 charges, including “giving intelligence to the enemy through indirect means” and “aiding the enemy.” Already, the military judge has denied a defense request to dismiss all of the charges as the prosecution is intentionally withholding evidence needed to prepare Manning’s defense. The actual trial has now been tentatively scheduled from September 21st to October 12th.

From April 24th to 26th, peace-loving people from all over the world will be coming out onto the streets to expose the sham trial of Bradley Manning and to demand that he be freed immediately. Bradley Manning is a hero that should be celebrated for his courageous actions, not on trial in a U.S. military court!

Mobilization Against War & Occupation (MAWO) has joined and endorsed the international week of actions supporting Bradley Manning. Join MAWO in Vancouver along with over fourteen cities world-wide to demand:
